Meeting Structure

Virtual meetings are scheduled September-June and run a total of 90 minutes in Eastern Standard Time. Two or more meetings on the same topic are scheduled each month, giving our members a few options to ensure they can participate. The meeting format includes an opening presentation on HR trends by the President, a review of the topic to be discussed, followed by smaller group facilitated breakout sessions, a larger group discussion, and Q&A.

During the meeting, members head to virtual breakout rooms where they share their own experiences in smaller groups, tied to the topic at hand. The smaller groups then reconvene for a broader share of what each group discussed. Through a facilitated roundtable conversation members learn from each other, developing a broader understanding of trends and best practices. Each member is encouraged to contribute to create the most diverse perspective on the topic.

Meeting Format and Logistics:

  • Meetings are held on a regular monthly schedule with the exceptions of July, August, and December.
  • Meetings typically commence between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. EST and consistently end after 90 minutes out of respect for the members’ time.

A summary of each meeting is posted on a shared private Microsoft Teams channel for all members to access. Between meetings, members connect through this private channel to network with other HR professionals, ask questions, or share case studies on any aspect of HR. They also become more broadly connected with their fellow professionals and regularly leverage this network.
